Priv.-Doz. Dr. Jürgen Altmann is a member of the Physics and Disarmament research group at the Chair of Experimental Physics III, TU Dortmund. He works on scientific and technical issues related to disarmament, particularly military technology impact assessment and preventive arms control. His major studies have addressed, among other topics, laser weapons, missile defense, non-lethal weapons, and unmanned vehicles; more recent work has focused on military stability in the context of autonomous weapon systems (AWS) and confidence-building measures in the area of cyber armament.
